This Panel/Talk is an overview of an in-depth analysis of Square Enix's "Mobius Final Fantasy" as it relates to progressions and double-standards in depictions of sexuality in contemporary gaming. While teaching Communication Studies at California State University, Los Angeles I work as the Associate Artistic Director of the nearby Mosaic Lizard Theater. There I develop and produce new live performances that directly take inspiration from cartoon animation, gaming, as well as other forms within the league of nerd culture. My research, off-stage, likewise focuses on the intersections of animation, performance, and queer identity.
