Queer Youth Game Developers share their game development journey of learning programming to launching their first award winning game
Wizards vs Scientists. This game is an RPG style story telling game that centers on the player trying to douse a conflict between the two factions: Wizards and Scientists. The main story has many themes that delve into a number of social and political issues, including the true meaning of war, treatment of the LGBTQ community, racism, treatment of soldiers, and the possibility of a true communist ideal. and the steps they are doing to educating other queer youth about game development.
Maven is a national nonprofit fostering innovative solutions that empower LGBTQA youth to network, organize and educate for social change. We provide queer youth leadership opportunities to teach coding/game development in their local LGBT centers/youth groups. We also host Free 2-week Tech camps for queer youth to explore a pathway into technology.
